Iris Newalu
Recognized as a leading expert in women’s leadership development, Iris Newalu has worked with a wide range of Fortune 100 companies, including financial services, biotech and pharma, tech and engineering, insurance, and media industries. Bringing over twenty years of experience in consulting, program design and delivery, group facilitation, and professional coaching, Iris helps organizations cultivate the talent needed to manage in a disruptive, global workforce today. Her consulting and coaching programs support women at all levels seeking to advance in their careers.
During her seventeen plus years as executive director at Smith College Executive Education for Women, Iris designed and managed a portfolio of strategic leadership programs for high-achieving women, from emerging managers to senior global executives, while collaborating with a team of internationally renowned management educators to provide world class programs. She is recognized for developing the first and highly acclaimed From Specialist to Strategist program for women in science, technology, and engineering, which provided strategic thinking skills to women moving from a role as specialist into line management.
Collaborating as a strategic thought partner with talent and executive development professionals of over 200 multinational companies, Iris has been at the forefront of creating a diverse range of open enrollment and custom designed leadership initiatives. She has presented programs in the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brazil, and Europe.
Iris’ extensive experience gives her the knowledge of what is needed from leadership to manage in today’s highly complex, volatile, and ever-uncertain world, and how women can rise to meet those challenges as top level leaders.
Holding a Master’s of Education degree in Counseling Psychology, Iris completed a thesis on Work-Related Stress, from the University of Massachusetts, at Amherst. She began her career as a psychotherapist before moving in to the training and consulting arena. As a professional coach, Iris has a natural ability to draw out the full potential of others and build confidence to achieve success in their professional and personal lives. She works with individuals who wish to find career clarity and purpose, achieve higher goals, and create a roadmap for success. Iris has a passion for helping women develop resilience and conquer overwhelm, while increasing positivity and engagement in life and work. She is recognized for her warmth, passion, and deep understanding of people dynamics.
