Your Retreat Leaders
Iris Newalu
is an expert in women's leadership development and an executive coach. She recently transitioned from her position as executive director of Smith College Executive Education and now enjoys being an independent leadership consultant, coach and facilitator. Iris is a teacher of Mindfulness and Authenticity. As a professional coach she works with individuals wishing to improve their self-awareness, advance in their careers, enhance their leadership and management capacity and style for further success, and with those in career transition. Iris believes that leading in work and life need not lead to burnout when the right self-management tools are applied. Iris loves bringing women together to learn how to live their Best life. She currently lives in Western Massachusetts and enjoys gardening, yoga, traveling, and photography.
Tieraona Low Dog, M.D.
Dr. Low Dog is one of the foremost experts in the United States on the safe and appropriate use of botanical remedies and dietary supplements. Tieraona brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience to all that she does, but it is her rare ability to take complex scientific and medical information and make it highly accessible to the everyday person. With her warm and down-to-earth style, Tieraona has been invited to speak at more than 600 conferences, with her message of healthy nutrition, sensible dietary supplement use, integrative medicine, compassionate care, and deep ecology. She has authored five books, including four with National Geographic; Fortify Your Life, Healthy at Home, Life is Your Best Medicine, and Guide to Medicinal Herbs.
Ella L.J. Bell Smith
has built her life and career around transforming other peoples' lives. Through teaching, mentoring, leading and inspiring, she has shown them the impact knowing yourself can have on every aspect of your life. Her insight enables people to have self-confidence and self-awareness and to be their authentic selves. Ella is founder and president of Ascent: Leading Global Women to the Top, an organization committed to professional development and career advancement. Ella lives with her husband in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Regina Burgio
is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga, healthy living, and enjoying la dolce vita. Her yoga teaching focuses on the therapeutic aspects of yoga (improved posture, a healthy back, stronger bones, better balance, core strength and greater relaxation) to counter the effects of technology and modern living, as well as a way to connect more deeply to oneself. She is a 500-hr Kripalu Yoga Teacher and certified in Yoga for Osteoporosis. When not on her mat, she is the principal of RB Design Co., a graphic design agency in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.
